GCSE results come out on a single day in late August each year.
For 2025, the confirmed GCSE results day in England, Wales, and Northern Ireland is Thursday 21 August 2025. Schools and exam centres release results to students on this date.
A-Level results arrive one week earlier, on Thursday 14 August 2025. Both dates are set well in advance by the Joint Council for Qualifications (JCQ).
If your child sits Cambridge IGCSE exams rather than UK domestic GCSEs, the schedule differs. Cambridge Assessment International Education runs multiple exam sessions throughout the year.
Here is a summary of Cambridge IGCSE result release windows:
| Exam session | Results released |
|---|---|
| November series | Mid-January |
| January series | Mid-March |
| March series | Mid-June |
| May/June series | Mid-August |
Exact dates vary slightly each year. Cambridge publishes confirmed dates on its official website before each session.
For homeschooling families, the process works differently. Private candidates must register through an approved exam centre months before the exam. Results are then collected from that centre or accessed online on results day.
Homeschooling parents should confirm their centre's specific collection process early. Some centres email results directly. Others require in-person collection or online portal access.
One common concern for homeschooling families is missing key deadlines. Registration windows for private candidates close earlier than school-based entries. Plan at least six months ahead.
At Digital International School, students follow the Cambridge IGCSE curriculum with live online lessons from qualified instructors. DIS guides families through the full exam registration process so nothing gets missed.
IGCSE tuition starts from AED 500 per month for all subjects. Students access a dedicated platform with lesson schedules, resources, and direct instructor messaging throughout the year.
