How to get copies of GCSE certificates?

Contact the exam board that awarded your GCSEs directly. AQA, Edexcel (Pearson), and OCR each run their own replacement certificate services.
You will need to provide proof of identity, your date of birth, and details of the school or centre where you sat your exams. Processing times and fees vary by board.
These are the main exam boards and how to reach them:
- AQA: request via the AQA website, certificate replacement section
- Edexcel (Pearson): apply through the Pearson qualification services portal
- OCR: submit a request through the OCR certificate ordering page
- WJEC/CCEA: contact directly if your exams were sat in Wales or Northern Ireland
If you no longer know which board awarded your qualification, contact your former school first. They should have records of which board they were registered with at the time.
Original certificates are not reissued. Exam boards issue certified replacement certificates or certified statements of results instead. Both are accepted as proof of qualification by most universities and employers.
If your original school has closed, contact the Joint Council for Qualifications (JCQ) or the relevant national archives body. They can help trace which board held your results.
For students currently studying a British curriculum online, such as those on a Cambridge IGCSE programme, certificates are issued by Cambridge Assessment International Education (CAIE) after results are confirmed. Replacement certificates from CAIE follow a similar process: apply directly through their certificate services team with proof of identity and candidate details.
